He is an international expert on Catholic bioethics and will be speaking about a relevant and controversial topic at the cutting edge of ethics and clinical practice. \nAll healthcare practitioners at every level of training are invited\, and if you have a white coat\, wear it! This year we are honored to host Fr. Tad Pacholczyk\, PhD\, a world-reknowned Catholic bioethicist\, who will offer the Mass and give a talk afterward. His bio is below this invitation! \n\n6:00-6:45 Holy Mass- please wear white coats or scrubs if you can/want to!\n7:00-730: Dinner\, networking\, intro to the CMA\n7:30-830: Fr. Tad lecture & Q &A (dinner continues)\n8:30-9: Final wrap-up/closing prayer\n\nALL CATHOLIC HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS OF ANY DISCIPLINE ARE WELCOME (invite others & RSVP!); all residents and students in pre-health care professional programs are welcome! \nTHERE IS NO CHARGE for this event\, BUT students from St. Charles will be collecting hats\, mittens\, scarves &/or gloves to distribute to the poor at the Center for Care (Knights of Malta) clinic in the winter season. If you can donate new or gently used winter items\, please bring them! \nHere is Fr. Tad’s bio: \nFr. Pacholczyk has degrees in philosophy\, biochemistry\, molecular cell biology\, and chemistry. He later earned a PhD in neuroscience from Yale University\, where he focused on cloning genes for neurotransmitter transporters\, which are expressed in the brain. \nAfter working for several years as a molecular biologist at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School\, Fr. Pacholczyk studied in Rome at both the Gregorian University and the Lateran University\, where he did advanced work in dogmatic theology and bioethics\, examining the question of delayed ensoulment of the human embryo.
